We will fly up to the northern camps later in the week to check things out. Might be building some new docks in search of deeper water. I will keep you all posted.
Hi Lee and Julie, How's everyone? How's the weather? Is the ice out yet? The truck is packed (jk)only 16 days to go.

Cibs, I'll be leaving for PAC this week Thursday......... Have been fishing the last week of June for some time now........ As for the may flies........seems like their has been a hatch while I have been there the last few years.....maybe not a huge one..but a hatch none the less.......... I mainly drag spinners.........bait doesn't seem to matter much when the "eyes" are really biting......... I will say that leeches are hard to beat........... Looking back on my old bills for the week..........I have used less & less minnows & more & more leeches & crawlers............ Goodluck to all & see yall @ PAC REAL soon!!!!!!!!! John
Heading up in a few weeks and assuming the May flies have come and gone. Never fished so late in the season. Crawlers or leeches??? We have always done well trolling cranks in mid June and just wondering if live bait is better this time of year especially with warm water temps. Thanks and good luck to all. Cibs

Hi Lee, Looking forward to getting up there! Just about a month to go, however, I understand that you have to tolerate a certain "Tuffy Boat Walleye Fisherman", some extra weeks this year. I am sorry for that! Brian

Hello and Happy Holidays to everyone from or going to Pickerel Arm! Hope everyone is having a great winter. See you next spring!
Happy Holidays to everyone at Pickerel Arm Camp! It really is unfortunate that we won't be able to come up in 2005, but with a senior graduating and going to the Navy, things will be pretty hectic for us. We will surely miss everyone.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO THE EDWARDSON'S. THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR!
I love this page. It look sreally nice. Keep it up
Awesome Place you have. I've been lost online reading your website! :)
Is it about June?
Lee: Thanks for another great week. The fishing was good. It was relaxing to get away. Send Mel back home when you close the camp! I will send some pics. of Wendell for guest photos.
I've seen feedback on this page, and also from the other outfitter on Fawcett Lake that there are lake trout in Fawcett. Anyone willing to tell me where, what depth, and how to fish for them? Your feedback is appreciated. 6 and a wake up!
Fishing on the main lake has been relatively slow compared to year's past. I have had the privilege to fish with many good walleye fisherman over the years on this lake and many of them are scratching their heads wondering where the fish went. However, base campers don't be too discouraged. These reports of 30, 32, and 33 inch walleyes are from the outposts and not Minnitaki. There are an abundance of 21-24 inchers to be had, you just may have to change your tactics a bit. If you're a spinner fisherman using bottom bouncers, change to a walking sinker and a small blade. Lindy rigs and jigs tipped with half crawlers or leeches have worked well also. If using a Lindy don't be afraid to give them 15-20 seconds. The bites have been very short or extremely light. Good luck in your pursuit of a tasty shore lunch.
Thanks Lee for another Great week! All six of us caught Thophy fish. 32" Waleye and a 42" Pike was our largest fish. We all caught 24" to 30" Waleye's all week ! Like the Mayor say's "I'll be back"
We stayed at fawcett lake and it was by far the best fishing ever... I have been coming to Canada for over 12 years and this was fantastic! The cabin was awsome too. We will be coming back next year! I am already counting down the days and I just got back yesterday!
Congratulations on the baby boy. We had a great time last week, 26 Jun - 3 Jul. Great fishing weather, very good fishing. One of our group caught a 27.5 walleye, many, many over 21.0
Congratulations Julie and Lee, I'm sure you named the newest barefoot Edwardson after our little "darling" Andy who is now taller than Mom. He and I will see you in August. Be sure to save a few fish for us.
Wow !!! another Boy. Great job you two. I have three girls and gave up on having a boy. 33 inch Waleye...not only that size, but we caught a bunch of 29, 26, 23, Couldnt catch anything smaller than 23".
Lee and Julie: Congrats on the new addition to the family!
congratulaions on the new arrival!! the family is beautiful.. see everyone in the fall...
Congratulations ,to all of you.You have such a lovely family. Looking foward to seeing all of you next year. Julie, take care of yourself. and invest in a good pair of running shoes to keep up with all your boys. Sandy

Lee: We had a great time again. wondering what it takes to catch a 33 inch walleye? WOW. We would all have big heads. See you again in the fall.Dan
Not to many fishing stories here ? We will be trying to beet last years record of a 33 inch Waleye . See you in July Lee.
Only 12 days until we pull out of Illinois and on our way to the beautiful country of Canada. Tell Sharon to get that sign up for Cory not to ring the buzzer after 8:00...ha ha
Just looking for fishing info. on Keike. First time at Keike will be this June. Thanks.
Thank You to Lee and Julie for another GREAT trip. Our group has been enjoying various PAC outposts since 1983, and we start counting down the days to the next trip on our drive home. This year was no exception. The fishing was non-stop, and the 4 days and 80 dozen minnows went very quickly!! The clountdown to 2005 has already begun.....
Thanks for the info.
We have gone that way, it is considerably longer in miles and time. The drive along Lake Superior is beautiful though if you are driving in daylight, at night it can be quite foggy. I live near Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Curious if anyone has driven up the Minnesota coast from Duluth and crossed at Pigeon River instead of through Ft. Frances. How much longer in time and miles? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Brad - Congratulations from everybody here at the P.A.C. We wish you and Brenda the best.
At 5:54pm on 5/16/04 Reed Alexander Kunz made missing my week at P.A.C. all worth while. I hope the other seven yahoos are having a great time, catching and eating a lot of fish. Brenda says sorry she was seven weeks early. All our love. The Kunz family.
Thank you for wishing us well CJ. Today is nice and sunny. Why aren't you up here? Looks like it will be high water this summer.
Best wishes to Pickerel Arm Camp this season and our thoughts are with you Julie as June comes around. Say "Hi" to everyone for us. C.J.
bwwwwwaaaaaaaaaahahahaahaha
Update: Current conditions - blizzard. Springpole, Fawcett, Blackstone, Little Miniss - Frozen. Everything else is open. Tomorrow is supposed to be better. Calling for freezing rain and sleet. Might have to cancel tomorrows beer run. Water levels are up at the base camp. Maybe 2 feet or more. The water levels at the outposts vary. Lac Seul is still low. The border: Adult - All you need is a drivers license to get in. Children - should have a birth certificate. There is still a ban on potatoes. We will keep some here in the store. New twist this year though - no dog food allowed into Canada. Don't ask. Even the people at the border don't know. Chevy had a depressed look as I dumped 160 lbs of high quality dog food on the U.S. side. How will he eat this summer?
Hey Mike, Brad already gave me his cash for Booby's walleye!! See ya Friday....have a 'blue' waiting for me
Hey Mike, Brad already gave me his cash for Booby's walleye!! See ya Friday....have a 'blue' waiting for me
Lee, how's the water level this year? Did you get enough snow this year to bring the water back up? Thank you, thank you very much, Bo
String four LaBatts together and yu will have M.J.'s Walleye !!!!!! Not to worry Bradster.
There are rumors floating around about needing a passport or birth certificate to get across the border and back. Any truth to the rumors.
Gary: It's nice to know others are looking forword to a cold Labatts!!!We're not far behind...
.......we'll need 4 cases for that first night!
Ice Update: We made it into Otatakan today and dropped off some supplies. The ice is black, and there is only a small open area by the cabin. We think it should be gone by Monday at the latest. Kabi and Keike are open. Tuk Bay is open in front of the cabin, but still full of black ice on most of the lake. Reports from farther north have been sketchy at best. We are planning a full tour tomorrow to check things out. Labatts??
Thanks for the update Lee! What's the Labatts outlook look like???
Ice report! There is still a strip of ice out in front of the camp. It is black and should be gone by the weekend. Once that ice goes we will put the planes in and fly up north to check things out. It has been windy which is good but the nights are still dipping below freezing.
GO BOB GO! Win me $80 you non-walleye catching dude! 9 more days
Is it true that Michael Jordan fishes there every year? How big is his posse? Does he stay in the penthouse? Does he have any walleye patches? Less than two weeks to go and the clock is crawling. Arrrrrgh! Can't wait to spend another great week at P.A.C. BK
Only one more month Yeah. Is the ice out yet ? Looking forward to another wonderful year.
My group of 4 has an opening for two more anglers for a Fawcett/Blackstone fly-in May 13-23. If you are a twosome that would like to experience great spring outpost fishing for lake trout, northern & walleye this is your chance. E-mail me or give me a call at 800-327-6836.

Karl Kvithyll lost his fight for life on January 10, 2004. He loved Pickerel Arm Camp more than any place on this earth. I hope that he is fishing in the big lake in heaven. He will be missed....... Fisherman's Prayer: I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day, and then when it comes to my last cast, I then most humble pray, when in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in his mercy, I be judged big enough to keep.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Looking forward to coming up again in July.
Sorry to hear about you Dad Lee. He sure started a beauty of a resort and am sure he is very proud of the way you continue to manage it. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Judy,Lee,Kim,Julie, and Chase Just wanted to let you know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Dick. We had been coming to Pickerel Arms for the past 14 years and he was one of the best resort owners around. We always appreciated how well kept everything always was. He will be missed.
Lee, Julie, Judy and Kim -- For those guests who may not be aware as well as all those that know and love you, please accept our condolences on the passing of the greatest owner of any Canadian resort. Dick was trully a pioneer and set the standard for what guests have loved at Pickerel Arm. Our prayers are with you now and always -- Paul and Kathy
been coming to blackstone for 13 yrs
Sounds like Big B is wishing he could be there! Someday I'll do two weeks like Mel. As always the fishing will be good. We'll be there on Sat. The Dunlap crew.

Lee, We are looking forward to our trip to PAC in August. We were at Fawcett a couple of years ago, I was hoping to book every year, but the time seems to slip by quickly. Tuk Bay, here we come in 26 days! Your website is fantastic, your "webmaster" does fine work.
I had a wonderful time. Everyday in Blackstone makes you feel like a pro. Thanks Alot. Jeff
hi your baby is very cute and lee i hope u got better at chess see ya in a couples of years
will be leaving today at 5:00, cant wait to hit the water and meet you Lee. see ya in the morning. should be there mid morning.
Why is there a ban on potatoes??? Is the water rising at all yet.
Looking forward for a week of fun in the sun catching the "big ones".
Are the fish biting good this week.
There is a current ban on potatoes from the U.S. entering Canada. We don't why as of yet. We will keep a supply of potatoes on hand here at the camp and let you know of any new information.
anyone know if the fire ban is still on??
Is there still a fire ban????
This is an excellent website. Is there anyway of posting a fishing report on here at all. I know the fishing is fantastic from what I heard but would be nice to check and see how people are doing...
Lake report - We got a real good soaker last night that was much needed. There are no fire restrictions at this time. The weather has been warm and the fishing has been good. The water is still low but with some more rain like we just had it will start to rise. Take care everybody, Thanks - Lee Edwardson
Thanks for the update Lee. How are the water levels? Can't wait to get up and see you in early July. Sure is coming fast!
Ice Report - All our lakes are open. Temps have been in the 60's and sunny. It's very dry - There is a current ban on campfires.
